I'm not sure why people are so harsh on Chives.

Not only is it located in a lovely quiet street but the people who work there are very helpful and nice. I was after 15 unusual sandwiches that weren't on the menu and, of course, Chives went out of their way to deliver.

    Thanks guys!

I actually made a specific trip to this sandwich shop. It's about a 15 minute walk from work, but I'd noticed it a while ago, and thought it looked really quaint in its unexpectedly quiet road right off the busy main street.

I was immediately a bit unimpressed with the sandwich filing options. In my opinion, you need the basics and then work up. These guys had about seven varieties of chicken filling, but nothing that was just chicken mayonnaise or the like. To be honest, I didn't particularly want Italian chicken (with tomato and herb sauce - I asked what was in it but the server didn't know), or indeed Thai, BBQ, avocado, etc. But I'd made the effort to get there so I went with Italian.

There was then a weirdly long wait, given there was one person in front of me. One of the virtues of sandwich shops is that they are a quick option while still offering something fresh, but was hanging around for a while.

Then took my sandwich back to work, only to open it and discover that the bread was mouldy. Totally put me off. I would have brought it back and complained, but by then I was 15 minutes away and my break was over. I didn't eat it, obviously, so can't comment on the filling, but this is totally unacceptable. I'm not a martyr to best before dates, and will often take a fairly liberal approach to using ingredients as long as they seem ok, but in an establishment that sells food, I think it's vital that they are on top of these things, and it makes me feel squeamish to think what else might be missed.

Had breakfast for lunch at this cute little cafe. The people were wonderful and the service was excellent. I enjoyed a leisurely breakfast while reading a book. Would definitely go again.

This little cafe is situated on the cobblestone side street of Woburn Walk close to Euston station.

Catering to the lunch type meal they will deliver to offices in the area and do basic british breakfast as well.

Its best feature however is not its food -- It is its charming location and  outside seating - weather permiting of course !!-  I would recommend eating "out" in a sense.

Mostly a sandwich bar with a leaning towards italien cuisine - I had the lemon pepper chicken pannini. The sandwich was average and coffee good however across the street is a newsstand with an exceptional choice of foreign newspapers and magazines -

Honestly it is not the food that will bring you back here again but if you like a quiet very english tree-lined street and abit of general quaintness with a good foreign read - this is a stop for you.

Chives sits on a side street in Bloomsbury, close to the Euston Road. It is a small sandwich shop that sells food to take away and eat in, whether inside the shop or on a table outside.

The food at the shop is fairly standard in quality and price, and not really worth a detour. The thing that I like about the place is the staff. It is a family run venture and the staff are all really fun and kind.
